Misha Zharinov came to us from Volgograd, Russia where he began his dance career. He is the winner and finalist at many International Dance Sport Federation competitions. He was the first place winner of Malaysian Millennium Dance Sport Championships and the Singapore Open Championships. He graduated from the University of Fine Arts with a master's degree in choreography and dance education. Mikhail is quad-lingual- he speaks Russian, Spanish, French, and English. Misha holds the distinguished Fred Astaire Dance Studios Best of the Best Teacher Award for 2008 and 2009. The award is given for extraordinary skill and performance in teaching dance within the Fred Astaire Organization. With his professional dance partner, Galina Detkina, they are Fred Astaire National Professional American Smooth Champions, United States National Professional American Smooth Finalists, Ohio Star Ball Professional American Smooth Finalists and two times Ohio Star Ball Professional American Smooth Show dance Winners. They were also featured at PBS' "America's Ballroom Challenge".

Galina Detkina

Gala Detkina was born in Siberia. She has danced successfully around the world and is the winner of many international competitions in Germany, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, Canada, and the United States. She arrived in New York in 1997 to study acting. She continued studying dancing and acting in Russia, and she has recently returned to New York. Gala holds the distinguished Fred Astaire Dance Studios Top Female Teacher Award for 2007, 2008 and 2009. The award is given for extraordinary skill and performance in teaching dance within the Fred Astaire Organization. Together with her professional dance partner, Misha Zharinov, they are Fred Astaire National Professional American Smooth Champions, United States National Professional American Smooth Finalists, Ohio Star Ball Professional American Smooth Finalists and Ohio Star Ball Professional American Smooth Show dance Winners. They were also featured at PBS' "America's Ballroom Challenge".

Hayk Arshakian

Hayk brings enthusiasm and a vibrant energy that flows throughout his coachings. He started dancing at the young age of 6 in his home country of Armenia. He studied ballet, jazz, and modern dance, but his focus and his passion has always been for Ballroom. After reign as the undefeated Armenian Champion, Hayk came to Fred Astaire Wisconsin, where he flourished as a dancer. In the 10 years that he has been with the Fred Astaire family, he has received the most consecutive Top Teacher awards in the region, as well as taking the National Top Teacher in 2005. He has taken many of his students to the top with him, becoming a Pro/Am United States Champion, and is the undefeated National Fred Astaire Professional Rhythm Champion. After a long and successful career as an instructor and teacher, Hayk has become a requested choreographer and a respected coach. He cannot wait for his next big adventure!

- Stephen Knight is one of the busiest men in the industry! As a Regional Franchise Director for the Wisconsin region, an NDCA adjudicator, a coach, choreographer, and the Assistant National Dance Director for Fred Astaire Dance Studios, his dance card is almost always full. Stephen and his dance partner, Rae Josephs, were 3-time United States American Rhythm Finalists, and 6 time undefeated Fred Astaire American Rhythm Champions. Stephen is also responsible for creating a large portion of the Silver Syllabus. He is well-known for his choreography for open routines, Solos, Showcases, and Novelties.

- Ginette Cournoyer is a highly accomplished competitor in the International Latin division, and has also been an adjudicator at the most prestigious competition in the world, Blackpool Dance Festival. Ginette resides in Montreal, Canada, and has the most delightful French Canadian accent. She is highly skilled in all forms of ballroom dance.

Linda Dean

- Linda Dean is considered a living legend in the ballroom community. She and her partner, Vernon Brock breathed new life into the International Latin division when they debuted their partnership in 1975. They went on to win the USDSC Latin title for the next four years. Linda is now a dance board member, and coaches and judges all around the country. Her professional demeanor and impeccable taste have made her one of the most sought after coaches in the industry.

She has been awarded with numerous top teacher awards throughout the United States. Nicole is a United States finalist. Nicole has certifications with the National Dance Council of America, North American Dance Teachers Association, and Dance Vision International Dance Association

Dan Rutherford

- Dan studied jazz dance extensively from the age of five through his late teens. At that time he began a career in ballroom and Latin dance. Dan has produced numerous champions throughout his career as a teacher and coach. Dan has also danced on stage with numerous celebrities as a back-up, chorus line and principal dancer in many productions. Dan is one of the top professionals in the United States.
