Bio Pamela’s first experiences with dance go back to her childhood days of ballet, tap, and gymnastics. After years of challenging herself with competitive gymnastics, she felt the drive to explore other venues, trying new sports such as soccer and running. Music continued to be a passion, but took the more choral form of school choirs and musicals. Although music remained a part of her life, she missed her initial love, dancing. After studying in Oaxaca, Mexico, she found her way back to dance. Once again captivated by its challenging, emotional, and healing power, she became very involved in the Latin style, most specifically focusing on salsa. She is now expanding on that single type of dance and developing a similar ardor for all areas of ballroom. She attended UW-Madison where, as a Kinesiology major, she studied body mechanics and exercise. These studies contribute greatly to her desire for a ballroom dancing career, which is entirely dependent on body movement. She feels blessed to have found her way back to dancing and hopes to continue to challenge herself, grow, and learn as a dancer while working with Fred Astaire!
